Re: Poll to stir things up!

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where?

On vacation in 2007 at the Pinnacle Grill (special restaurant on the ship). It was sooo good that I was so full (I couldn't pass up the chocolate volcano cake for dessert). I ended up puking afterwards because I was so full. Best tasting puke ever.

Crab cakes, filet mignon with aspargus and scalloped potatoes, chocolate volcano cake with homemade vanilla icecream, the best tasting coffee ever and some tiny little chocolate truffles. The chef also sent out a tasting platter of apps.

    2. Name something you said you'd never wear, but found yourself following trend eventually.

Funny enough, yoga pants. Not sure why I didn't want to wear them.

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city (other than your own) would you live in?

Too many to pick from. Some small town where we could have a nice piece of land on a lake.

    4. You cash in your "air miles" (or the like) for a a 1000$ gift card.  What store is it for and what are you buying?

A spa for a weekend worth of treatments.

    5. You drop everything and become a roadie for your favourite band, who is it?

If you had asked me 10 years ago I would have said Lenny Kravitz without hesitation. Now though I have no idea. I don't really have a favourite band. If I had to be a roadie for someone it would be someone who is laid back and chillaxed. I don't know who that person/band is.

    6.  What do you crave when you have wicked PMS?

I don't get PMS. Right now I want an icecream sandwich. When I am done this I will get one out of the freezer.

    7.  Tell us something saucy, shocking or taboo.

    I fart like a sailor.

  • imageJanieJones:

    1. Most memorable meal : ?Maybe a birthday breakfast my sister made me with banana pancakes, strawberries and fresh whipped cream. ?Simple, so so thoughtful.

    2. Something you said you'd never wear: dresses over pants. ?It's just too easy for work.

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city would you live in? Montreal, hands down.

    4. 1000$ gift card. ?What store is it for and what are you buying? ? I don't know, but maybe I'd buy some different dinning chairs.

    5. become a roadie for your favourite band, who is it? De La Soul.

    6. ?What do you crave when you have wicked PMS? ?Cold can of coke, and a caramilk bar (but not at the same time.)

    7. ?saucy, shocking or taboo: ?(I'll come back to this one! ?I am boring today, someone has to ante up first to get me inspired)

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where?

We got a free meal (no dollar amount specified) for a fancy seafood restaurant in Vancouver from our realtor when we sold our home. Because I'm a vegetarian and my husband hates seafood we weren't going to go, but one night we were bored and decided to try it out after all, telling ourselves we could just have dessert if there was nothing else there for us. My husband found steak on the menu so he was happy, and they custom made a four course vegetarian meal for me. It was unbelievable, and we left there just sick because we had force-fed ourselves too much. I think we had to pull over three times on the way home to try to rest our stomachs and breathe. It was pathetic but delicious :)

    2. Name something you said you'd never wear, but found yourself following trend eventually.

    capri pants

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city (other than your own) would you live in?

    Victoria

    4. You cash in your "air miles" (or the like) for a 1000$ gift card.  What store is it for and what are you buying?

Hmm... Chapters? I've been too broke to maintain my book habit so I've been trading in my books at the used book store. Since they take three books for every one they give you, my book collection has been decimated.

    5. You drop everything and become a roadie for your favourite band, who is it?

Nirvana? lol. I'm a 90s grunge girl at heart :)

    6.  What do you crave when you have wicked PMS?

I don't get PMS, but generally speaking I crave Milestone's chocolate espresso cheesecake.

    7.  Tell us something saucy, shocking or taboo.

um... I won a prize in my first year of college for submitting a piece of writing to the college newspaper. The topic was "your best ski story". I shared a true story about sex acts on the chairlift Embarrassed The prize was season's passes to a local mountain. I'm such an old married woman now sometimes it shocks me to think about the things I used to do as a teenager. *clutching pearls*

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where? Probably the time Ian decided we were going to have a lime theme for a Saturday night dinner at home - sangria, lime-coconut shrimp, and then I think steak with a lime twist, and chocolate mousse with lime for dessert.

    2. Crocs

    3. Halifax.

    1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where? All of our honeymoon meals at the Sandals resort that we stayed at in Jamaica. It was beautiful (the atmosphere and yummy food).

    2. Name something you said you'd never wear, but found yourself following trend eventually. I thought I wouldn't buy boots that I tuck my jeans into. I'm totally following the trend and it's functional during the winter months.

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city (other than your own) would you live in? Probably Vancouver. I think it's beautiful there.

    4. You cash in your "air miles" (or the like) for a a 1000$ gift card. What store is it for and what are you buying? Homesense! I can always find something for my house.

    6. What do you crave when you have wicked PMS? Cheesecake, hands down!

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where?

Fresh tuna steak at a candlelit dinner on the beach in Tahiti *sigh* beyond delicious and you could not beat the atmosphere

Runner up is the Banana Bread french toast I had out in Canmore BC last summer. So freaking tasty.

    2. Name something you said you'd never wear, but found yourself following trend eventually.

I'm going to go with Crocs. I've yet to get any, but so wanted a pair of the sandles this summer after I wore my sisters for the day. It made me lose my hate for them. Am totally hunting down a pair for myself for next summer (they actually look like regular sandals which helps get over the fact that they are crocs, lol)

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city (other than your own) would you live in?

We stayed once at this place on the coast of Vancouver Island. I would be a happy girl if I got to wake up to a view of the ocean and some green islands every morning. The fact that it's significantly warmer than Toronto doesn't hurt either!

    4. You cash in your "air miles" (or the like) for a a 1000$ gift card.  What store is it for and what are you buying?

This week, it would be at a car dealership. $1000 is about the add on price we're seeing to add a sunroof onto a new car. Doesn't seem worth it to me, but if I had an extra "free" $1000 I just might change my mind and go for it!

    5. You drop everything and become a roadie for your favourite band, who is it?

    Brad Paisley's tour.

    6.  What do you crave when you have wicked PMS?

I never go wrong with Nachos and salsa (mild salsa only though)

    7.  Tell us something saucy, shocking or taboo.

I've gone diving with sharks. Which may not be shocking to anyone else, but always surprises me since I'm usually a big wimp!

    I've never seen Jaws either.

I tried to watch it once down at the waterfront and ended up walking out of it as soon as the first kid went under and never came up. Scared the hell out of me.

How I'm able to swim with them is beyond me.  But it's SO COOL!

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where?

I went on a date when I was 15, I grew up on a farm (closest town had 100 ppl) and had met a guy on summer vacation who lived in the BIG city of calgary, my brother drove me to Calgary (2hr drive) to meet him and we drove in his Mustang into the downtown core, I remember being mersmorize by the romance of the city lights.  He took me to the most trendy, posh restaurant, and I had the most magical meal.  I had no idea what to order but in movies they always say I'll have the chicken, so I definately said, I'll have the chicken.  My date even suggested we have an appitiser, so we had calamari.  It was the most amazing experience of my life I felt like royalty.  Now it has to be said, I am telling the story of my self then and how I honestly felt...for the record...the restaurant?  Was Earls.

this is my favourite confession! I thought people only "ran away with the circus" in movies, I'm glad your family got you back! Did you work for the carnival too while you were there? Or did you just hang around with your hot carnie man (I'm assuming he must have been a mullet-free hottie in order to cause you to go across the country Stick out tongue)

  • 1. Most memorable meal you've ever had-what & where?

It was the year 2007 and the night was cold. No, jk. Um. LOL! I cant remember when it was but my whole family, including cousins, aunts, and uncles, was in Florida. We went to this hotel to have dinner but there was like 20 of us. Eventually, we got seated and it was just a lot of fun because there was about 30 different conversations going on and the food was really good! Good times.

    2. Name something you said you'd never wear, but found yourself following trend eventually.

I said I would never wear running shoes or yoga pants to school. It's too casual but that quickly got thrown out the window last year. I began living in it. Granted, eventually I did stop. I wear boots, jeans, and a cute shirt now.

    3. If work and family weren't a factor, which Canadian city (other than your own) would you live in?

None. I would move to either Paris, New York, or Texas in a heartbeat. I'm not very patriotic. I dont even like Canada that much.

    4. You cash in your "air miles" (or the like) for a a 1000$ gift card.  What store is it for and what are you buying?

Oh, hands down. The spa. But, I'd wait until after I have my babies. I would get everything from A to Z.

    5. You drop everything and become a roadie for your favourite band, who is it?

    Mariana's Trench. I adore them.

    6.  What do you crave when you have wicked PMS?

    Chocolate and lots of it.

    7.  Tell us something saucy, shocking or taboo.

I'm not married but engaged. And, I am pregnant. And, I am only 22.
