Favorite aspect of your apartment?
It is in NH and close to everything ( I really disliked MA)
Least favorite aspect?
It is an In-Law apartment so it is tiny and doesn't have as much natural light as we'd prefer.
Do you plan on buying a place and if so, in what timeframe?
We plan to buy in the next year or so. We had originally planned to buy a year ago, but I lost my job and we to hold off since neither of us were working we couldn't qualify for a mortgage anymore since the crash and tighter restrictions even though we had enough saved for a 10-20% down payment and enough extra to make payments for almost a year
What's on your wish list for a home?
A large kitchen and TONS of natural light and a nice yard
Have you done anything in particular to make the apartment more "homey"?
We painted all the rooms bright and airy colors to make the place feel larger and more like home.
Do you like your landlord(s)
YES!! It's DH's dad and stepmom and they are great!

The laundry room is inside of the apartment.

The kitchen is kind of small

We have our Boston condo. We're not sure what our long term plans are for living here so we are not rushing to buy a house here just yet.
What's on your wish list for a home?
New construction and a HOA that isn't a royal PITA.
Have you done anything in particular to make the apartment more "homey"?
Nothing in particular, besides our furniture, DoggyB's crate and toys and beds and blankets...it's more about her anyway, isn't it?!
Do you like your landlord(s)?
We have property management. I suppose they are just fine. They keep the grounds immaculately clean and don't bother us about DoggyB's breed.

How long have you been in your place? Too long (over 4 years)
Favorite aspect of your apartment? 2 full baths, most windows look out to woods.
Least favorite aspect? w/w carpeting that was old when we moved in. Four years later it is so worn out. Yuck.
Do you plan on buying a place and if so, in what timeframe? Yes, ASAP. We've been looking for over a year. Keep getting outbid.
What's on your wish list for a home? Ideally, 3BR, 1.5 baths, close to train/Boston, large kitchen, garage, decent yard. Not sure if we'll get all of that.
Have you done anything in particular to make the apartment more "homey"? Hung stuff on the walls. Also we just have a lot of stuff everywhere.
Do you like your landlord(s)? Eh. It's a management company so the people we work with directly keep changing over. I don't like their habit of increasing the rent every year while continuing to offer low introductory rates to new tenants.
Favorite aspect of your apartment? Not having to pay to have things fixed.
Least favorite aspect? Attached neighbors and no radiator in the bedroom.

What's on your wish list for a home? We wanted 2 beds + office, 1.5+ bath, either basement or garage (we ended up with both), 2 floors, not on main road.

Do you like your landlord(s)? Yeah, he's pretty flexible and he lives in RI so there's no random "drive-bys".

Yes, we are going to start looking for a home in Austin, after Christmas.

hmmm... a really great kitchen!

We've hung a few pictures, but that's about it.

Not really. The girls in the office are fake! They say things like, "Hi, Sweetie!" "How are you, Miss Joanna?" in very southern accents... and they sound fake to me...

Favorite aspect of your apartment? it's our first place together
I love the set up though, it's very open and I love having a fireplace

Do you plan on buying a place and if so, in what timeframe? Definitely want to buy. DH is being deployed so we kind of have to put our house plans on hold for another year. Hoping to buy soon after he gets back though!
What's on your wish list for a home? master bedroom, nice backyard, quiet street
Have you done anything in particular to make the apartment more "homey"? Besides hanging pictures, I need to get some curtains up and I really want to get some seasonal decorations. I admit I'm not so great with decorating but trying to be better!

Do you like your landlord(s)? Our complex has about 50 people that work in the office, I seriously don't see the same people twice, so, sure, I like them, we haven't had any problems with anything so far..
