Gift ideas for my aunt?

Hmmm, my aunt is turning 60 on Saturday and her kids are throwing a par-tay! I am stuck for a gift. I want to spend less than $40...which means I have to get a bit creative. She likes gardening, collects windchimes (but has so many I'm not sure I want to go this route), loves to bake and cook, has a great sense of humour, is a big Roughriders fan, is *not* a fan of techy stuff. Any suggestions for a gift?

Re: Gift ideas for my aunt?

  • Could you get her some gardening gear (new colourful apron and gardening gloves?)

May not be a good season to find a good selection for that stuff... but it sounds like something she'd enjoy and might not by for herself.

If that fails what about new cooking apron/oven mits set? Same idea and there might be a better selection!

How about a GC for a specialty cooking store or cooking class.  There's one here that has 2 hour seminars that are under $40.

Check out Golda's Kitchen if there isn't a specialty store in her area.  They have a big online store and ship across Canada.

I love their specialty bundt pans.

  • I love the cooking lession idea.
  • I was in Winners today and they had lots of specialty oils and fancy salts/peppers.  Maybe pick out a few things and make a basket along with a new apron or oven mitts?
  • Does she read? ?How about a book?

My CW (late 50s) was all gaga about some Shirley MacLean biography today.?

    ?

Or, shameless plug for my BFF... but since you say she has a sense of humour, how about these hand printed burlesque tea towels?
