Our really close friends are moving out of the country to New Zealand.Their departure is 11/1.
We've been doing a lot of things to spend time with them (what we'd be doing regardless), usually seeing them 2x/week (they live about 45 minutes away). We're having them over for dinner the Thursday before they leave (on Sunday 11/1).... but I just feel like I need to "do more". I was going to give them a care package of Cincy goods, but I've seen their luggage and they can't take anything more!
Unfortunately, I don't have hardly any pictures (I've been so bad at that) of us so I can't make a photo album.. I guess I wish I could do something for them- just not sure what...
I know I'm mostly a lurker on this board, but thanks for listening...
Re: What to give/do for close friends moving out of the country?
What a fantastic idea! Thank you so much!
Any Cincinnati-esque items I can ship that won't be too heavy?
I live out of the country, and I second the care package. When you make the initial move getting more 'stuff' is just overwhelming (and then you feel bad not taking it with you even though your friends/family put thought into it).
I would wait until they have a little while to settle in and find out what they're craving that they can't find in NZ. A good bet to include: magazines. They really help you feel connected to US pop culture.
