Hello Ladies,
My DH and I are possibly relocating to Central Mass., around the Harvard/Worcester area. Anyone live in or near Harvard, Mass? We know VERY little about the area and I was just hoping for some insider info; nice towns, places to avoid, realtors in the area etc. Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Re: Anyone in Central Mass?
Hi there and welcome to Mass and the board!
I live near Harvard (which is a very nice town btw). Actually, many of the towns around that area are pretty good towns with good school systems (if that's important to you) and low crime. We decided to stay away from Ayer because the crime was higher and the school system didn't seem to be as good as the other towns (though the houses are less expensive due to this).
I know more about the towns in that area to the east of 495. If there are particular towns you are particular interested in let me know.
I live in Gardner, but work In Leominster. I work as a social worker and do home visits in all the surrounding towns, so I know the area pretty well.
If it's not too far for you, Ashbrunham/Westminster has one of the best school distrcits in the state, and there are some really great houses there,
Welcome! Not sure if you will be relocating due to a job? If so, let me know where and I might be able to help you more. Harvard and Worcerster are actually not really near each other at all haha.. I can help you with things in the Harvard area (and east), but not Worcester.
Either way, welcome to the board!
I was thinking the same thing.
I know about Worcester because I went to school there. Wouldn't recommend settling down there though. Unfortunately I didn't learn much about the other towns right adjacent to Worcester. Are you looking to buy or rent? If you're buying, sign up on ziprealty.com. They list info (such as crime) about the town the house is in and the surrounding towns. I usually use greatschools.com to get an idea for the school system. Anywho, if you can provide us with more info about your situation and better pin point the location you're looking for we can help you further.
Hi!
I live in Worcester, but have only recently moved here, so I can't tell you a lot about the area. However, I can give you the name of my real estate agent, Kelly Lizotte. I can get you his phone number/email address if you'd like.?
I see Harvard's near Acton, and a friend of a friend lives there (in Acton), and is really happy there. DH and I were kind of hoping to live up that way, in the country, but we decided the commute would be too far for me (I work in Worcester). We were also looking in Sterling/Princeton/Clinton, which seemed like lovely little towns, but they turned out not to be right for us, sadly.
?Good luck!?
