Ethan's pediatrician has moved away!
Dr Super Awesome Fabulous has moved to South Africa! I can't believe it. I called to get the results of Ethan's brain ultrasound as we hadn't heard anything (they're not in yet). I told the receptionist that the radiologist told me two days, and she kind of coughed weird and then said that yes, they're available in two days IF the doctor looks online at them in "the system" and that Dr Van Dyk was great about looking at results as soon as they went into the online system (which I guess is why we often got blood test results within hours of them being taken), but he LEFT and the new dr doesn't do that, she waits until they are officially mailed which takes longer.
WTF? I'm so upset, I loved the other doctor! He was the only one to take us seriously and find all of this. I hope the new doctor is good. Already she doesn't seem as with it as the other doctor was...
On top of all of that I'm kind of mad he didn't tell me himself! He called all the time to tell us everything that was going on, but never mentioned that he was moving away 
. He kept assuring me that we would get this figured out and I totally believed him.

I'm so sorry Lisah, I know how happy you were to find him and finally have someone who took things seriously.
I also wonder why he didn't call... South Africa seems like a pretty big move (i.e. not something you just pick up and do), but who knows, maybe it was something he didn't expect to happen, but then had to act quickly on.
I am still happy you found him when you did - he's gotten you so much farther in all of this than any of the others have. You are on the path to answers, regadless of whether or not he will be there with you when you find them. You will find them
Yeah, I've wondered that too. He's actually from South Africa. We have many doctors in my city that have been "poached" by the Canadian government (I read an article not long ago about how South Africa has a severe doctor shortage because the rich white doctors don't want to stay there due to the violence and Canada is actively recruiting them, waiving a lot of the hassle of immigration if they'll come here). But maybe there was a family emergency back in South Africa or maybe something happened with his immigration? He had just moved here months before we saw him so I doubt this was planned- he has kids so I can't imagine he planned to move them across the world for only a few months.
Ditto Shannon, at least the doc FOUND SOMETHING. I think you're on a path where the new doctor cannot ignore you (albeit he seems to be do things the old way and wait for the mail...)
That sucks... but like PPs, it was great that he got so much progress towards a diagnosis for Ethan.
