university baby studies
I've had requests from both York and just now U of T since Andrew was born. I'm not sure what list they got my name from, but whatever.
York was looking for three-month-olds, and I was going to do it, but three months was a rough age for my little guy and I never got around to it. Now U of T is looking for babies up to nine months old, and I think we'll do it. They're offering a 3D picture of your child's face as a bribe. It's about "face processing" and will only take about 45 minutes. I think it'll be really interesting!
Anyone else do this?

J's done a few, one of which was about language processing and was very cool. They were looking at babies exposed to just one language compared with those learning a second language. I was also in some studies while pg with him, and we consented to another study while I was in hospital after delivering him that turned out to be hellish for the parents - for, I think, 72 hours, we had to document what he was doing (crying, sleeping, etc) in 15 minute increments.
This time, we've been approached about a longitudinal study. Oooops, I need to follow up on that....
Have done research, I know how difficult it is to get enough respondents, and always feel a certain empathy/obligation to help out if I can.

Supposedly the video of DD doing the second one is making rounds in the Psych world.
She's received 2 tshirts, and an honorary bachelor's and an honorary masters from UBC psych dept. Lots of fun.
I did a few studies in university too. All the one's where you have to drink a certain amount in an hour and then they run tests on you. Plus we got paid!
drink a certain amount of what may I ask? This sounds like it could be a fun study
