Market Basket Doesn't have a Website?

I did a google search for Market Basket hoping to sign up and get flyers in my email (like I do for Shaw's) and I can't find a website. The only ones I see are for a restaurant in NJ and a different grocery store in TX. WTF?

Re: Market Basket Doesn't have a Website?

  • I've never been able to find a website either.  I have looked a few times in search of their store hours.  It always surprises me now when companies do not have a website.  It's practically expected these days.

  • I have nothing to add other than your house is looking so great!
  • No, they don't.  It's one of the marketing "extras" that they don't use, in order to keep their prices so low.  I read an article in the Globe magazine about them a few weeks ago and that was mentioned.  I don't mind, because I find that I can go in and get a good deal just about any week, rather than game the pricing system like I have to do with Stop & Shop.

That's interesting to know. Thanks BB!

Is there one near your new house? There is one in our town and I avoided it for a while because I always had this impression that MB was "ghetto" for some reason (probably because the ones I had been to were in more urban areas and were not so great). BUT, the one in my town is great! AND super cheap.

We get the flyer in the mail each week with all the other circulars...you'll probably just get it if you live near one. But I find just by shopping there I save money...everything is cheaper.

For example, the milk I like (the hood tastes like whole, but is really 2% or whatever) is like 2 for $5 (versus $3.79 and up at other stores). Produce is cheap. Granola bars, cereal, etc is cheaper. I got a huge bag of Tostitos for 2.99! They're like $4 or more at other stores...so you do save. Oh, and their meat is really well-priced and I've never had a problem with quality!

Hey Claire! In my home town there was only Market Baskets, so I grew up with them. There is one near our new house, but not in the same town. But we may still end up getting circulars in the mail (we do at our apartment for neighboring town grocery stores since we don't have one in town).

I'm just used to getting them in my email and making a list before we go. Mostly because if something isn't on the list I will forget it.

They are so totally ghetto, except for a select few that are pretty new. The one closest to us (I live in the town MrsC is moving to) is no exception - I swear there is sawdust on the floor every time I have ever gone in there. It creeps me out so much for some reason!

But, they are very cheap. I just never go that way so I don't bother shopping there.
