Dating

C and I are officially dating other couples. For anyone who saw HIMYM the other week, when we saw it we were like "that's so us!"

We have 2 dates with other couples set up for this weekend. And the best part is that they asked us out, which is always an ego boost.

As I've said in other posts, we don't have many couple friends. And the ones we have aren't such great friends. We've been working on meeting new people and making new friends. The majority of people in our area have kids, but these couples don't. So it's exciting to see some progress in our social life.

Anyone else in this boat?

Re: Dating

  • haha yes! i did se HIMYM last week!

we want to be in that boat. we only have 1 couple that we hang out with regularly, and we're not super close or anything. so we wish we had more. Otherwise most of our friends are single guys. I miss having girls to talk to IRL.

?good luck on your "dates" this weekend!!

  • Dh and I totally want to date other couples!!! We don't have any friends in this area that we do things as a couple with and we have been trying. We signed up for ballroom dancing lessons which was fun, but we were younger than all the other couples by like 20 years

  • we talked about this too! it is so hard--you can't just go to a bar and hit on couples or anything...

we have about 4-5 couples we hang out with occasionally (they live in another city so its hard, but we will take vacations together since we were all college friends), and about 2-3 couples we hang out with consistently.

We would like to have more options though because the 6-9 of us always hang out and that gets a little redundant.

  • DH thought Marshall and Lily were silly for wanting couple friends. Then I pointed out to him how that's about all we have...his best friend and wife, my best friend and hubby, his other best friend and gf.  Once it sunk in, he understood. lol
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • We do this as well...although most of our "couple friends" are our friends and their significant others. Most of the time I can't staid their wives/SOs and he has a hard time with some of my firends hubs/SOs; so we are definitely looking for that couple that are "couple friends!"

    GL on your dates!

  • Wow, I feel so lucky! We have about 8-10 couples that we hang out with all the time. All of the guys like the girls, and all of the girls like the guys. Actually, I could pick any one of the guys and be perfectly content spending the day with just them. Mike is the same way with the ladies in our group. It's a wonderful dynamic and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
