Update on Josh's family

First, thanks for everyone's T&P. It definitely means a lot to both of us.

Second, it was his grandmother. I was posting on Josh's iphone (which is a pain.in.the.ass, by the way) and somehow missed that important piece of information!

Third, they removed all the remaining breast tissue (she'd had surgery when she was first diagnosed) and most of the lymph nodes in her right armpit area. They're pretty sure they got it all, but they're also pretty sure the cancer was in the lymph nodes. They won't know for sure until they get the pathology results back next week, but they'll be doing at least 6 months of chemo as an extra precaution. She was up and eating within two hours after the surgery and she fussed at the delivery guy who brought her a plant while she was eating! It was a long and stressful day, but everything seems to be fine for now. Thanks again for thinking about us today :)

Re: Update on Josh's family

  • I'm so glad she came through the surgery ok. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with her as she goes through her chemo treatments. Let me know if she needs anything at all.
  • I am glad she is doing well, and I will keep thinking about you guys. She must be strong if she was eating and fussing within 2 hours after waking up! I know I am nothing like that after anesthesia.

  • That's great news!  Keep us updated and I hope things continue to get better.  Let me know if you guys need anything.  =)

  • I'm so glad that her surgery went well! It sounds like she is in good spirits if she's already fussing the delivery men and sometimes that makes all the difference. Hopefully she will breeze through the chemo and get this mess back into remission! Will be sending more T&P to her.

  • I'm glad to hear that she did so well! I hope the rest of her treatment is easy on her and on her family.
