I love dressing up as something/someone I'm not. Last week, DH and I got to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as Batman and Wonder Woman, since they allow costumes in the park. We got 6 pictures taken by tourists before we even entered the park. It was a lot of fun, and the best part was that we got to wear last year's costumes in a totally different atmosphere.
At Starbucks, one of my two jobs, we can dress up in costume for "when we drink our VIA Ready Brew coffee." I decided to wear my work-out clothes and my Gator game-day gear. This Saturday, I will be wearing a short-sleeved Halloween shirt, my blue vest, and yoga pants under my hat and apron. I'll clip on one of our Starbucks cold tumblers onto my apron and put my hair in pigtails. This Sunday, I'll wear a Gator t-shirt, jeans, and place a gator head tattoo on one cheek and write a UF on the other.
I also have a grim reaper costume that I've worn for many a Halloween. Since neither costume is appropriate to wear to the elementary school I work at, I had to find another cheap costume "from literature" since that is this school's annual theme. So, I picked up a $10 child's red velvet hooded cape and a $5 wooden basket with a handle (sold at $2.50 due to Michael's sale). I'll wear a black top with a khaki skirt and cute black Mary Janes that I already own. Ta da - a $12.50 Little Red Riding Hood costume!
What sort of cheap costume ideas do you nesties have?
Re: Proud of My Cheap Costumes
Huh? How many cups of that Starbucks coffee did you have before you posted this?
I have no idea what you're talking about with the yoga pants and pigtails... and I'm still trying to figure out if you're a Gators fan or not since you "love dressing up as something/someone I'm not."
Tell me, is this dress up thing something you do on a regular basis or are you just trying to get the most out of Halloween by stretching it as far as you can because all of this sounds just a tad bit overboard to me...
I've got more issues than a magazine
I'm honestly trying to follow your post, but I'm just really not getting this paragraph. So, what exactly are you trying to be for Halloween in all those clothes?
