Where to stay near us bank arena?

Hey all,

My husband and I have never been to Cincinnati and are looking for a place to stay that is within walking distance, or very close, to the US Bank Arena.  I have been looking online but it has been overwhelming seeing how we have never been there.  Is this part of the city safe? Is there anything we should know about the area?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Where to stay near us bank arena?

  • This part of the city is very safe. I would say that most hotels you will need to take a cab to get there (walking is not ideal but not unsafe.) There are loads of options from the Westin, Hilton, cincinnatian, Spring Hill Suites Midtown, as well as Covington hotels by the convention center. I think there is one in Newport but I am not recalling the name. Whatever you do, I would not recommend the Travelodge in Newport. I live in this area and it doesnt seem like the best place to stay - I could be wrong, but it is within walking distance.
  • I would stay at the Millenium Downtown, the Westin Downtown or the Hilton Omni Downtown.  All those are withing walking distance to US Bank arena.  Millenium is usually the cheapest, yet still very nice.
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. You guys rock.  I checked out all those places.  We aren't gonna be in the room much so I was looking at the cheaper places like Millenium and the Garfield suites.  I ended up booking the Garfield suites cuz I like being able to cook and having a full size fridge, for ummm snacks and stuff.  I hope it will be ok.  Thanks again ladies.  See y'all in November.

  • Garfield Suites is quite a walk to US Bank, but still doable.
  • I'd take a cab, personally.  It shouldn't be too much, but that is quite a hike.

Any chance this is for the Phish concert?  We got tickets today for Friday.

  • It's probably a 15 minute walk from Garfield Suites to US Bank Arena.  Not bad at all.
  • Yes, for the Phish show.  We got Friday and Saturday!!! First lottery win in 6 years.  I haven't been to a show since Coventry, super pumped.  15 minute walk is nothing.  We should be fine!! Thanks for all your help.
