Good Morning!

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was good - little bit of shopping with my mom, relaxing with the hubs.. And our friends came over on Saturday night that we hadn't seen in a couple months, so that was really fun Smile

Re: Good Morning!

  • Really busy, but that's a good thing since we can't wait to move.

I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night, so I'm kind of dragging this morning.

  • Oh my... I need a do over!

My DH left for 10 days this morning and I'm so stressed! Our first floor tiling project is not finished and we couldn't grout this weekend so I will be trying to finish that. BUT I need to get to my washer/dryer and it's located in the middle of the project.... so no grouting til I can finish some loads of laundry.

The kitten is sick (most likely worms) and has been soooooooo nasty. Sorry to be descriptive & gross but he's not cleaning himself and is tracking his poop all over the place. We woke up to a bed filled with poop on Saturday morning. I am sooooooooooooooooo disgusted!!! I can't feel clean at this moment. He's also trying to nurse on our dog and poor Simon is getting frustrated so I'm trying to play referee. I can't get Dewey to stop!

So that was my weekend in a nutshell- constant cleaning up of the cat & refereeing... and DH is gone! Ah nice timing :)

  • Oh man Mesa, that sounds rough! :-( I hope your kitty gets better quickly and your life returns to normal soon haha.

Thanks! I wasn't stressed this morning until it hit me that I'm alone for 10 days! I just hope he has worms... and not something else.

Any advice for the nursing thing? It's getting a little ridiculous.

Quirt him with water when he's about to?

Our cats were 3-4 months already when we adopted them. And since they were both small (and we had no other pets) they didn't do that.

  • Mostly miserable.

Friday I had a doctor's appointment for my back during which the doctor asked "Well, what do you think?" I don't know if there's anything more annoying than a medical professional asking what my opinion is. Dude, I have clearly exhausted my options at home, thus I am here. What do YOU think? You're the doctor.

So Friday night I was a little disheartened and in pain so we had Chinese food & a bottle of wine and called it a day.

Saturday, we made our own sushi at home, which was pretty fun! Then we hit up a wine tasting which was also a great time and then we had a end-of-the-season party for DH's softball team. I was in pain for almost that whole time.

Sunday, I had an MRI at 9:45. Hopefully that will show something. Otherwise, I might lose it.

  • We went to NJ for a wedding.  I never found a dress so I ended up wearing a black dress that I had that I don't love because it is really low cut and so I am always worried about my boobs staying in.  The wedding was pretty fun though....although the drive was sooooo long.  We got back yesterday and we went over to see my BFF's baby.  They are home!  I just picked Luka up from boarding, and now I am sorting through way too much laundry.
  • Happy Monday (ugh)!

My weekend was fine- out with friends both Friday & Saturday night. Lots of relaxing Saturday & Sunday.

Yay! I'm glad to hear they are home now :-) Btw, did you ever say what she had?

  • Friday night I made pumpkin muffins (yum!) and went out to dinner w/DH and a friend,

Saturday was a productive errand day.

Sunday we went to some open houses, which was fun.  It was our first time looking, and we can't wait to find our house!

  • My weekend was awesome.  DH and I sat on the couch and cleared out our DVR and watched football for most of it.  We haven't done that in a long time and it was so relaxing.
  • another busy weekend!

Friday we went to an Armenian cultural festival (which mostly just focused on food- and that was fine, we had shish and chicken kebabs and they were delicious!)

Saturday I had to work a little in the morning, then we went to CT to see "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum" at Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam (which was really, really good, I recommend it).

Sunday we finally cleaned out my bedroom at my parents' house. There's still a bit left to do on it, but we made so much progress, it was so satisfying :) Then Mom and I went to a trunk show of my friends' paperie business, and we met up with dad and DH after to take another carload of wedding gifts home, as well as a bureau for the guest room. Then we had dinner at the Publick House in Sturbridge.

And then we finally watched out wedding video!! I'm surprised at how many things about the ceremony I forgot, not to mention how many things I didn't notice (like the brass ensemble getting really mixed up by the last minute decision of the grandmas to walk down the aisle, so DH's parents walked down the aisle to silence... oops! ugh)

Aaaand I was supposed to go to work last night, but I'm glad I didn't, because I did that task this morning, and it took me about three times as long as I thought it would- I would have been here til 1am last night if I'd come.?

  • Friday we went down to DH's grandfather's house, cooked him dinner, then we spent the night.

Saturday we went to visit his grandmother in the nursing home.  Went out to a Chinese Restaurant, sat in the lounge and ordered some apps... It was actually a really fun time.  When we got back some neighbors next door had people over so they called and asked us to come by... It ended up being a late night.

Yesterday we slept in, had a nice breakfast, watched a cute movie then went for a hike in a nearby park to enjoy the weather and did some work around the apartment.

  • I had a glorious weekend and feel so rejuvenated by it!

Friday night DH took me to Salts for an early birthday dinner.  I already wrote about that in a post below so I won't do it again, but it was an amazing meal, and good meals always put me a in a good mood :)

Saturday my family came over and we all carved pumpkins together.  It was my two sisters, my parents, my aunt & uncle, and my cousin & their two kids.  It was a ton of fun, I'll have to post some pics of the pumpkins later.  Then we all went out for dinner at a sushi place in Newton and came back to our house for cake and coffee.  Oh, and we watched Transformers 2 on DVD.  Fun day!

Yesterday DH and I went to Mt. Auburn cemetary because I've heard it's beautiful there in the fall.  It really was gorgeous and we got to take lots of pictures.  It was so relaxing walking through there (which I know sounds weird for a cemetary, but it was more like we were walking through a pretty garden).  We played volleyball from 5-9pm, and then after that we drove down to the zoo in RI to check out the jack-o-lantern festival there.  It was awesome!  10,000 pumpkins with amazing carved details.

OK, I'm off to lunch with DH now who took the day off to hang out with me on my actual birthday.  "See" you guys later!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Happy birthday!!  Have a great one!!
  • It seems like most had good weekends, that's great!

We took a long weekend, and left Thursday for Ohio, I was a BM in a wedding this weekend, and we had a blast!  It was so exciting to see these two get married, they are a wonderful couple.  We also got to spend time with my sister and some friends in the area.  It was a great weekend, but I am exhausted now, and not ready for the week!

  • I spent most of the weekend relaxing on the couch getting over the flu (of course my weekend started on Tuesday because of the flu).  It was nice to have a chance to relax.  I definitely needed it.  We also went out and looked at bathroom fixtures and things and did some house dreaming.  Yesterday I was able to get a little yardwork done.  A lot of the plants I have left got killed by the snow last weekend and needed to get seriously trimmed back.

I was very happy to return to work today though.  There is only so much forced relaxation a person can take.
