I've been a loyal Verizon member since 2002. I've been very happy with my coverage- little dropped calls and good reception. I live in Blanchester/Morrow now, and the reception is pretty strong out there too.

The catch- Sprint is having a great deal on their wireless plans, and it's allowed me to save about $30/mo (minutes and data package). I'm worried that the coverage (especially since I live in the country) will not be as good on Sprint.

Can anyone tell me your thoughts on Sprint vs. Verizon?

    I thought my coverage with sprint was fine for Cincy. I switched from Sprint to Verizon because my in-laws live in Lima and there was literally NO sprint coverage in lima. I also had problems in basements and places like that. Other than that- it wasn't so bad.

    Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. Even living in the country (and even going down to our basement in our home), I still get coverage with Verizon. Just worried that if I switch to Sprint, I will not get as good coverage.

    I have friends with iphones who live in Newtonsville and they don't get coverage at their house. I have Verizon and I get perfect coverage there.

    I switched from Sprint to Verizon for this very reason. I am from a small town, smaller than Blanchester actually and when I went back home I got very little if any reception with sprint.  If I were you I would stick with VZW for this reason. In fact I think parts of Blan I had trouble getting reception in when I had sprint. now that I think of it. VZW has the best coverage that I have seen. In the town where I am from only 2 cell phone companies get service there and VZW is one of them & the other company (who is not sprint) is very spotty. GL!

    Man, that sucks! I was so hoping to get better reviews about Sprint, but I won't go cheaper knowing that it gets sucky reception. :( Thanks everyone!

    I have Sprint and DH has Verizon and we have very similar coverage.  In fact, there are some areas of podunk where I have better reception than he does.  Like a LOT better ... and I pay a lot less than he does, too (but he has to have Verizon due to his family plan, LONG story ... )

     All that being said, do you know any Sprint users IRL personally?  Maybe borrow their phone and drive around ... ??

    Why not call verizon and ask if you can get your monthly rate reduced.  The worst they can say is no.

    I have Sprint as well...but my DH also works for them. I would go to the store and ask about trying it out for a few days to see how you like the coverage and customer service. I had Sprint even before DH and we have always loved it. Good Luck with your choice!!!

     

    Oh! I would also ask about any discounts. I know if you work for the county you get a % off, and whatnot.
