S/O of my heels post

Do any of you see a chiropractor?  I think I need one but don't really even know what to look for besides one that will see a pg women.  My OB doesn't like them, most MD's don't so I'll have to find one on my own.

Re: S/O of my heels post

  • I did something to my back like 2 years ago and went to one.  LOVED him.  It took several visits - ~10 or so - but he really helped me.  I'd mentioned it to my NP when I saw her a few months later for my annual and she said "Well, as long as it helps, but if this continues, come back to see me and we'll take a look."

I can't help you find one - I went to one my CW's nephews (like half the building sees him! LOL).  He got me in VERY quickly - when I first went, I was in so much pain, I could barely move, but within a week, I started being able to move more normally and felt better.

If you're not already, ice your back. When I first went, he couldn't do anything for me because my back was so inflammed.  He had me ice it and come back the next day.

But I think calling to say you're pregnant and see if they carry your insurance.  Mine covered up to 12 visits or something.  I would assume you'd want him/her to be licensed/accredited - I wouldn't go anywhere that wasn't!

  • Thanks Paula,  I don't really even know where to start to find one, I know a couple of people that go but they are on the other side of town.  I guess I just need to call around, I wouldn't be as worried if I wasn't pg.

  • Does your insurance company offer a nurse line? Maybe you could call them and see if they could look in their system for chiropractors in your area that take your insurance. And then go from there...

  • I'd do that - what Kristin said.  Go through your insurance (my insurance offers me a searchable engine online) for a list first, and then call the ones nearest you to see if pregnancy is an issue.
