Weekend Trip to....?

DH and I are thinking ahead about where we are going to go for our anniversary. We are going on a cruise the month before, so this trip will just be from Friday-Sunday. We aren't looking to drive more than 4.5 hours tops.

We are thinking about Chicago but I think I'd like to go there when we are taking a day off work and have a longer time there. We don't want to do Dayton or Columbus. I would prefer a city and not a bed and breakfast, and would prefer not somewhere like gatlinburg.

With that being said, just give me any ideas!

I second Louisville, and would also consider Indianapolis.

Edit: Chicago is also a fun city, but would be about 5 hours drive.

You dont need to stay long in Chicago IMO.

We went to Hocking Hills last weekend, and the colors were sooooo beautiful! But if you haven't booked a cabin by now, you'll have to stay someplace farther out.

Louisville is H and I's favorite weekend getaway. We love staying at the 21C. There are tons of places to walk to. Galleries to look at. Fun restaurants.

Indy is super fun and clean you can walk to pretty much everything...We are planning a weekend trip to cleveland they seem to have a lot to do and doesnt cost to much. If it is the summer months I would say put n bay for sure...It is so much fun!!! More of a party place so if that is not what you are looking for maybe not there. Also lil we looked at lil Nashville and it seemed to cool fun! Good luck and hope you have fun!!
