Where to buy 100% grass fed beef? Naturally raised pork?
I have been having the hardest time finding beef to buy this winter. We've decided to switch to buying beef and pork in bulk this year and I'd like 100% grass fed due to all the extra vitamins and minerals (and Omega 3s) in it. I'd also prefer to buy it from a farm that will let us come visit prior to buying, as DS would LOVE it and we could see how everything is ran. At this point though, I wouldn't not buy because we can't go see the farm.
So anyone have any recommendations within like 100 miles of Dayton. I'd like something before Xmas if at all possible! Thanks!

We buy our beef from EAT food for Life at the 2nd Street Market ...

I think they sell pork too. And I know their farm is open for visitors.
I can't help with the pork, but you could check out Grassland Grange for beef. It's located in Liberty Township (between Ikea and the new outlet mall).

I would rather eat grocery meat than get it from the EAT people at 2nd street market. That guy is a complete jerk. I've gone 3 times to buy meat from him and stood there and stood there, with my money in hand and a toddler trying to run away and instead he was too busy helping his "regulars" apparently. I'm sorry, but even if they are regulars, they need to stand in line!
And yes, Dorthy Lane is SUPER expensive, and it's not even 100% grass fed (I asked). I had to run up there the other day and the only thing I could afford was chicken thighs for $3.99/lb! AHHH! Their beef was ridiculous! MUCH cheaper to buy a side at like $2.90/lb and have it already vaccum packed so I don't have to do it myself.
Grassland Grazers sounds familiar though.....hmmm, either they were out or never called me back, can't remember.
Wow, I've never had that trouble, but I usually go really late in the afternoon, when hardly anyone was there. I'm sorry that happened to you.
How about this place?

If you go to http://eatwellguide.org/i.php?pd=Home and enter your ZIP, there should be a listing of local places.
Have you attempted any of the Market vendors at Findley? I know we go to Eckerlin and Buschs for meat down there and we are always told they will bulk order for us. I think they can get pretty much anything you would like. Most of their farms are local as well and they can give you details on their meat. Its worth a look. We save quite a bit by shopping there for our needs.
you can always check out this website. It is where we found our CSA
