My DH would love that for a gift, I think it's a great gift.
I would totally get him jeans for Christmas if that is what he wanted/needed.

I can't. I got in trouble for getting him pants for his birthday, even though I got him a couple of other things I knew he wanted.
Anyone else in my family though, I would totally do it. So I guess it just depends on if your DH is okay with it
