How's your mom?

I had a crazy couple of days (apparently it is possible to be busy while stuck to the couch), but saw your post and was thinking of you.

I hope things are looking up and that she agreed to the surgery.

Re: **Melodie**

  • Thanks so much for keeping me (her) in your thoughts.

She is scared and nervous.  The cardiologist put off doing her angiogram today b/c the internist is concerned that she may not be stable enough, because of her low kidney function. Her kidneys are much worse than they originally thought but, due to her Diabetes and recent complications, she is not a candidate for any type of transplant surgery. They are assessing her for dialysis...not good b/c that means that she will not be able to come off of it...ever. Her liver is also damaged, they believe due to the medication theyve had her on during the past few years. Her BP and heart rate remain high, and her hemogloben is low. The doctors seem stumped as to why.

Despite all of the not-so-good news, mom is on board for surgery if the angiogram results are not in her favour. Ahhhh, big relief! At least she's gonna keep fighting :)

I'm so glad to hear there's a little good news mixed in there.  I really hope they can get things sorted out, so she can at least have the surgery.

    Keep us posted.

  • It's good to hear that she's trying her best to pull through. Fingers crossed for your family.
