NBR: What's your favourite Canadian thing that the US doesn't have?

Me? Our "OU" in certain words like "favourite", "neighbour", "labour", etc.  LOL

Re: NBR: What's your favourite Canadian thing that the US doesn't have?

  • Ketchup chips, poutine, and Hickory Sticks!
  • I heard Caramilk bars were Canadian, is that true?

but I'm going to have to go with public health care :)

  • We have better chips. They have better cereal and chocolate bars though...so I think that puts them ahead of us.

So my answer would be that anyone can get married regardless of sexual orientation.

  • food wise - def ketchup chips

gov wise - healthcare, gay marriage rights

there's probably more, but those are the first that come to mind.

  • Hmmm....that's a tough one. Can't think of anything!:-0

That's gotta be the best thing about living in Canada!

I think I prefer chips over chocolate bars anyway.  So that's a win for me!

Btw, love your siggy! That's such an adorable expression!

Ketchup chips, poutine, and Hickory Sticks!

I must have been living under a rock all these years b/c I didn't know that the states didn't have ketchup chips and poutine!

  • Definitely our chip flavours are so much more diverse than the US, ketchup being the best one!

Definitely the more socialist aspects of our country, health care, gay rights, maternity leave benefits and Quebec has great daycare costs too bad for all those of us who live in the rest of the country,

I like drinking Rye, not whiskey, I like toques and maple syrup and agree with the British spellings we seem to have inherited.

So many things I love about Canada, but it's where I grew up, so i'm biased, maybe there are things I would love about the US if that were my home.

  • Public healthcare, HANDS DOWN.

    And Kraft peanut butter.

    Confused

seriously, that kind of attitude is what makes you feel so miserable here.  Maybe try to look on the bright side once in a while.  Geez.

  • ditto the gay rights.  And, the mat leave is pretty sweet.

  • I know Smarties are way different in Canada too!!

I'm not a huge fan but just throwing it out there!

  • Healthcare system for sure.

Poutine - hands down! I would marry it if I could.

Hockey Fans are way better here.

I'm fairly certain Caramilk bars are not available in the U.S - they are one of my favourites! :)

A great flag to represent - I love that Maple Leaf!

  • TWO WORDS.
