had some contractions last night...

they were 15 minutes apart for about 1.5 hrs with a few in there about 10 min apart... I started to get so nervous/anxious I can't even describe it!!! well, they subsided and I only had a few more the rest of the night but let me just say that I did not sleep easy last night!

had a doctor's appointment today and my cervix is still completely closed, though she did say that my cervix is starting to soften up a little bit.  so odds are we will have a November baby as planned....just wondering if we will have her on my birthday (the 9th) or possibly on Friday the 13th?? ;)

the contractions were painful but weren't even that bad (like really bad AF cramps) but I felt like such a baby, wishing they would go away.  I am so not ready for L&D!! I wish I could just wave a wand and *poof* she's here like magic ;)

so now we continue to just wait and see....

Re: had some contractions last night...

  • oh wow!  how exciting!!

Hey, at least you know what they feel like now!  Or were those BH ones since you didn't actually go into labor?  I hear you about waving the wand - I'm not looking forward to the L&D part!

I don't want to have my LO on the 13th!! :(

I haven't had any contractions.  Baby keeps moving around a lot - I think he is just as uncomfortable as I am!

  • Eeek! How exciting! It's so soon for you now!

the BH contractions aren't painful, just a really tight feeling

these contractions feel like when you get really bad AF cramps and you want to curl up in a ball... sometimes when i have a bad period I feel like "my insides are about to come out" (sorry if TMI) but I had a similar feeling last night as well except this was coupled with a tightening of my uterus too.  it wasn't a sharp pain, more of a general dull pain

oh and I hear you about the baby moving! whoever said the baby moves less at the end of PG b/c there is less room clearly did not have a baby like mine! she still moves around like crazy and I'll still get the occasional arm or leg moving across my entire abdomen!

  • Thanks for clarifying.

And it HURTS a whole lot more now too!  This guy is getting muscles or something!   :(

  • Not sure if this will help (probably won't) but my cousin said L&D was a breeze compared to the first couple months with baby.  All I could think was, "Oh, great."  Haha.  Try to get some rest while you can!  Can't believe you're so close!

  • How exciting!  I am sorry it was painful...maybe fear had something to do with it too?  I find that when I am fearful my pain threshold is decreased.  Anyway, I'm sending you tons of positive vibes for the next few weeks as your baby girl gets ready to make her debut!  Are you still working?  Do you plan to work until it's go-time?
  • How exciting!  Your little girl will be here soon :)

Good for you.  I am working on my leave plan...I wonder how realistic I am being about working up to the day I go into labor?  I am only 26 weeks and my body already hurts (feels like all of my ligaments are stretching in opposite directions)!  I'd rather save up my leave for once she's here though.

You're in the home stretch!  Hang in there...she'll be here before you know it!

  • oh, Jamie!  That's so exciting!
