Need Wine recs

It's one of those days where a few glasses of wine are necessary. I'm looking for a non-Chard white that has a good bite to it but just a teensy bit sweet. Extra points if it's under $15.

Re: Need Wine recs

  • My go-to white is Eco Domani Pinot Grigio. I think it's like $11.99 a bottle.

What is it that you don't like about chards? Dry chards and oakey chards are completely different. I am always curious about peoples' chard choices since it's my fav.

  • Most chards I've had tasted like pee to me. Not that I've ever tasted pee, but it had a flavor that I associated with the smell of pee. If you have a rec for a good chard I'd be open to trying that too.

  • I love love love Honig Sauv. Blanc.  I usually find it for about $14/bottle.  I'm not good at describing wines in my own words, so he best description I found on it is "shows the cool, deep, mineral side of Sauvignon Blanc, with wet grass, ripe citrus and chalk in the aromas and flavors, plus an impressive broadening of the flavor profile deep into the finish."  It definitely develops flavor from the first sip to the finishing taste, and it's really refreshing.

  • I also like Ecco Pinot. Jekyll Riesling isn't too sweet, but it's nice and crisp. I like it a lot.
  • Very late on this, but you should try Louis Jadot Macon Valley Chardonnay. It's a little pricey for your every day bottle ($25+) but it is amazing.
  • Also very late, but I really like New Age white. It's Argentinean, I think. Very inexpensive, but very yummy.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.
