Best BR Advice I've recieved

In our last ultrasound the tech was a bit worried that the baby's head was measuring small, so we went for another ultrasound last week to look again.

The doctor was hilarous!!  He told us that everything looked "perfect" including the brain.  Then he told us that it's our job to teach the baby to use that perfect brain!  Thanks doc - we'll do our best Big Smile

He was also teasing us that he knew the sex of the baby!  If Russ hadn't been there I would have caved!

  • same here - I don't know how you team green people do it!

Glad to know your LO is "perfect" though!  How great to hear!!!!

  • "team green"? I like it :). That's the first time I heard that term. We didn't find out the sex either. When she came out and my mom said "it's a girl!" I didn't beleive her, I needed the dr. to say it, to make it official :) the best advice that I got was when I was in the hospital 2 days after Ella was born. Since she was a premmie, she had no interest in latching on to bf. I was slowly falling into a nasty little case of ppd and my anxiety level was in almost off the charts. The lactation consultants ( I saw 3) would grab my boob and try to "encourage" ie "force" Ella to take it. As these strangers were man handeling my boobs, they would say tell me to "relax". Huh? I just had a life bomb dropped, am trying to navigate through a hormonal minefield, my baby screams when I try to do what's natural and I just need to relax? Really? One of the nurses comes in, she was easily in her late 60's and just has this warm grandmotherly feel and finds me in tears. She sits on the bed next to me and my hungry baby puts her arms around me and says, "you know, she's doing the best she can". She was one of the only people that didn't make me feel like I was doing it wrong. I just loved her.

  • So glad to hear your baby is perfect - that has got to be one of the best things you can ever hear!

KShiz - that was really sweet.  Kind of choked me up a bit (I must be a bit hormonal!)  I need to remember that when I become a mama!

The only way I can do it is because Russ really wants it to be a surprise.  He wants to catch the baby with our midwife (if it's safe to do so) and then he'll tell me if our baby is a boy or a girl.  I can't take that away for him.

But believe me - it was so hard!!
