Need help with the Kids

Every year me and my husband have a fish fry out at the house, we have alot of land and it is normally prior to Halloween, so I normally go and get some pumpkins, kid friendly carving kits and paint kits for entertainment for the kids.  However due to us getting married this October, we pushed it to Nov. 7th due to all the wedding drama going on.  What I need help with is finding an activitiy for children at this fish fry, pumpkins are really not an option since Halloween is over...

Anyone have any ideas???  I was thinking maybe something doing with Thanksgiving or something... Please help??????  I dont have children, but I need something that will keep all ages occupied... and not bored out of their mind...

Re: Need help with the Kids

  • How old are the kids? This may be a bit immature for some, but it was the first thing i thought of. You put your hand print in brown paint, then transfer it to a tshirt. Use colored paint for the fingers, and you have a turkey on your tshirt. It looks something like this when completed. My aunt makes them with her kindergarteners, but slightly older children (Maybe up to 2nd grade) might enjoy it, too.

  • The kids range in age from 2 years old to 15.  I had another idea, but maybe someone can give me their thoughts.  What about making Christmas ornaments... At Hobby Lobby they have those clear bulbs and I could get some kid friendly paint and brushes, glitter, markers, whatever???  would that be okay???
  • Hi!  www.orientaltrading.com has some different kid friendly crafts kits you might look at.

Would you consider hiring an entertainer?

  • Not really, it is a low key kind of party, but I always want everyone to feel welcome and stuff, so I just thought to have something might be fun for the kids ... ya know?
  • I love the ornament idea.  Sounds like it would work for most of the ages too.
