The pictures are now up

I finally sorted through and edited some 400 pictures we took. I posted some on FB and most are on my picasa: http://picasaweb.google.com/ylevina/BermudaOctober09

We loved our trip and I told DH that we'll have to go back there one day. The waters were rough and stormy, so I wasn't feeling great, but once we got to Bermuda, all was great. The weather was beautiful, we went to the beach a couple of times (where I mostly stayed under the umbrella with the kiddo, since she was scared of the sand, ut enjoyed the water). We saw two of Bermuda's towns - the capital Hamilton, which is a newer town and St. George's which was the first capital and is 400 years old, with little winding roads and horse-drawn carriages. We went to the zoo and aquarium, which was really fun (Sasha was pretty much running around pointing at fish squealing). We ate too much, went to a few shows on the ship (although we were limited with a one-year-old). I am also a big fan of the auctions on the cruise ships: you get free champagne and look at beautiful pieces of art!

Yup, I like to AW, and I think some of the pictures came out pretty good ;)

  • Very nice! I love the pics of Sasha playing on the big chess set!

Looks like you guys left out of NYC; what cruise line did you use? Did you like them? (i'm daydreaming of a future cruise...)

  • The pics are beautiful Yuliya! I too love the ones of Sasha playing with the big chess pieces...too cute! =)

  • Thanks ladies, she was having such a blast with the chess!

We went with Norwegian and left out of NY. We did like them a lot, everybody was super nice and helpful. The food was decent, nothing special though (but we mostly hung out in the buffet since that was faster and just overall easier with a kid than the restaurants). They had a bunch of shire excursions but they were a bit overpriced, though that may be the case with most cruise lines; we figured out Bermuda's public transportation and went wherever we wanted to that way. Entertainment was pretty good, they had a comedian, a magic show a couple of times, a couple of people playing piano, musical shows. We've cruised with Princess before and liked them better, but they didn't have any cruises out of NY after August I think.

  • Sounds like a great trip! Your daughter is adorable. :)

Jen, that picture of Sasha and DH is one of my favorites too, she looks so tiny in it.
