Calling all artsy fartsy nesties!!
Due to lack of funds and an impending spawn, the mister and myself decided to make gifts for our first anniversary that is in a week. Since this is the paper anniversary, I decided to make him a daily calender with 365 reasons why I love him.
So while my idea in theory is awesome, I need help with the execution. How the heck do I do this?
Re: Calling all artsy fartsy nesties!!
oh.em.gee. I LOVE IT!
I will totally help you with this. Let me get some ideas together and I'll let you know!
oh oh oh! i got it...you can use cardstock...which i have a sh!t ton of so you dont have to buy. print the monthly calendars on them, then for the side that picture or whatever is on, you can decorate each month with like markers and crayons (cuz i am crafty like that) and you could put a different picture of you and DH on each month. and starting on the month baby Shoe is to be born until the end of the year, you can leave an extra blank space next to you and dh pic and save that to add baby Shoe's pic once born!
I.am.a.genius.
i seriously have this pictured in my head.
ooooh and i have a binding machine here too that can put the whole thing together.......
all for the cost of nothing....unless you have to print a few photos.
Yes! Does he need me to pick him up at the airport? I'll email you.
And I thought about only doing 12 but that's totally half assing it.
Tiger--you're definitely on the right track!
Jamie--let me know what you come up with!
Thanks, guys!
I've already started the list and some of them are pretty out their (i.e. I love you because you always pick out the perfect basket for me when we grocery shop). I decided to combine the weekend ones so that makes it a little bit shorter. But that's the same image I had!
I'll worry about the reasons; you guys just need to figure out how to I'm going to put it together!
Cute idea!
When is your anniversary? Ours is the 5th!
You could cut out or buy 365 squares (or whatever shape) and cut out words from magazines all 80's scrapbook style to describe why you love him.....bind it with some sort of rings, ribbon or brads? Add photos and even add "memories" from certain days or events from this past year? If you put a thick piece of carboard/chipboard for the covers it would stand up on its on when flipped open and he could flip the page each day.
I have lots of supplies for this at my house, but I'm not there until sunday
Btw, you better get started!
It's Nov 7! I have no clue how I'm going to pull this together between now and then with all the school crap I have to do. But I'll figure it out!
I actually had the grand idea of doing this as a wedding gift but it never happened so I already have a pretty extensive list of reasons.
How about you make him a desk calendar? You know the daily kind that you flip the page to the new date (and new reason why you love him). If you buy one of those tiny binders at Office Depot and maybe glue that to some sort of sturdy board or something. Then, punch holes w/ a three hole punch that's adjustable, it would work super well. Use super colorful cardstock and fun markers too!
Like these calendars?http://www.ataglance.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product3_10052_10002_113057_-1_false_10052
