Brittany update!

I just got a text from her.

Her water is broken and she is waiting on her epidural.  She says that her water breaking is the grossest feeling ever.  That she feels like she is constantly peeing on herself.

Re: Brittany update!

  • yay!

yeah, the water breaking is freaking gross.  Especially if they have to break it for you, like they did me.  They put a bed pan under you for a while, then take it away and you're left there in the nastiness and it doesn't stop for a long time!

LOL having a baby is probably the grossest thing ever, but also the most rewarding.  As soon as you hold that sweet angel in your arms, you forget all the unpleasant stuff.  There's no feeling like that in the world.

Aww...I'm sure it is! We really aren't ready yet, but I still get little spurts of fever at times. :)

  • Aww! That is so exciting....

All this baby talk is making me want another one!

  • Water breaking is just the grossest thing so far! I'm so glad to hear that she is progressing. Keep us updated!

Really?  I have heard the post partum bleeding is pretty horrendous.  Actually, more than once I have heard women say that they were prepared for labor and delivery but no one prepared them for how bad recovery was going to be.

I think that scares me the most.  For today anyway.

  • Shoe~ for both babies they broke my water, for me, they werent really that bad, i mean, it just felt like i was peeing on my self.

now, PP bleeding. holy moly, buy the boat sized over night extra protection pads. you will need them. whats crazy is that i had more bleeding after my C section than when i had vaginal birth. so wierd.

I plan on stealing copious amounts of mesh panties as well as investing in adult diapers.

  • My PP bleeding was not bad AT ALL.  It was heavy the first few days then it was really light for a while after.  I had a C/S and I think they did a pretty good job of scraping to minimize the pp bleeding..  I had bought a TON of pads and only used the packages I stole from the hospital.  Also used the mesh panties, they were great.

And the recovery from the c/s was a CINCH.  But I think it helped that the very next morning I started walking around, I hear that's the trick.

  • definitely Shoe get the fish net undies. they work very well!
  • Moral of the story:

You'll hear over and over "don't compare your baby to others."

So true.  Every pregnancy, every birth story, every recovery story, and every baby are all different.  The unique experience is what makes it special...all we can do is share ours and look forward to hearing yours :)

  • No, I meant that the water breaking wasn't really gross at all compared to some of the other stuff. That's all I'll say for now.
