Someone in my WW group buys this brand of meat & dairy at DLM. Biggs and Jungle Jims in Cincy also carry the brand so it might be cheaper to drive to Cincy if you want to buy a lot at once. She said the ground beef is over $6 a pound at DLM. I'm sure some of that price is for buying it at DLM!!

PS-she said she could taste a difference compared to regular grocery store meat.
Re: TCsbride
Thank you so much for asking her and for paging me, I really do appreciate it. I did actually end up putting a deposit down on a side of beef though two nights ago. I'm now only looking for a side of pig now, but I think my friend at work knows somebody in Eaton. Anyway, this is the farm we ended up buying from:
www.mckinneysangusfarm.bravehost.com
and I also put down a deposit next fall for a quarter from heirloombeef.com so we can see how it compares.
I've done some extensive research on this and not to sound snotty or anything, but there is a big difference between organic beef, naturally raised beef, and 100% grass fed beef. Organic beef will always be more expensive because of the extra cost of organic feed and all the regulations that they must go through. Also, they are not always 100% grass fed. They can just be grain finished, it's just organic grain which does not boost the nutritional value per se. Naturally raised just means they weren't given antibiotics or hormones, but they still are finished on grain which significantly reduces the nutritional value. So what we were really looking for is 100% grass fed beef, but not organic. We will be paying about $3/lb after all is said an done. A little higher than normal ground beef (I was paying $1.69/lb when it was on sale) but things like Porterhouse steaks and filet mignons are WAY cheap, so it all averages out.
Anyway, again, thank you for thinking of me!
