XP: Passports
I was looking into passports and the official site said that right now
most applicants are getting their passports in 4 to 6 weeks.
Has that been most people's experience? I guess I'm just curious if that estimate is pretty accurate?
DH and I found a great deal on a cruise the first week on January, that we are hoping we can go on. I was wondering if we apply for our passports next week if there would be a chance that we wouldn't get them in time? I know that there's an option to get them expedited, but that's another $60 a person, so I'd prefer not to do that if we don't have to.

No, the only passport that I have is one that I got before I was 16, so I'll need to apply as if I've never had one, and DH never has had one.
DH's took like 3-4 weeks. Also if you had the last one before you were 16, I think it's still considered a renewal. My last one was from when I was 14-15.
