Gov. Jindal issues emergency declaration

Following severe weather in north and southwest Louisiana, Gov. Bobby Jindal has issued a statewide emergency declaration. At least one death was blamed on the storms.

The state closed a lot of offices in the northern parishes, according to an email I got this morning. I think all my coworkers took suit and left early. I'm the only one here..bleh.

My friend is a claims person with the largest insurance company in the state in Shreveport and she said she is SWAMPED! obviously their phones have been ringing off the hook. Apparently a lot of it looks like BR did after Gustav.
