Baby Grand

I haven't heard any advertising on this, but I've been checking their site for updates over the past month or so, knowing it was in November. It's in a couple weeks!

Re: Baby Grand

  • Nov 14!  I'll be there!

Are you doing the hospital orientation?  We did ours the other day and they talked about Baby Grand when we were there.

  • We probably won't do the touring because we're delivering at BR General. 'm interested in the classes and exhibits though!

  • Do they only do this once a year?

  • Twice, once in spring and once in fall. It was pretty cool, and a little scary. I had never been in one of the birthing suites until my tour. They are very nice, but it's a little freaky to see the area they take the baby to to get it cleaned up, weighed, and all that.

Really?  I thought that was the coolest part of all.  At the Lafayette Women's, they take the babe to the nursery to do all of that.  I think it's awesome that they do it all in your room at the BR Woman's.

  • It's very cool. I loved that she never left me except to get her foot stuck once for a blood test. It's an amazing setup for sure.

What got me was imagining myself in that bed. I had occassional moments of panic when it would hit me just what I was in for.

  • Oh yeah, I know what you mean!  When we did the tour last Sunday they had a big mirror and the bouncy ball in there.  And they had all the pads and gown and such on the bed just waiting for the next victim, er patient.
