Do you have one that you'd recommend? What benefit is there to using a travel agent vs. just searching and booking through the web yourself?
Re: Travel Agents?
We used one from Victoria Travel to book our HM cruise. We didn't get any special deals or perks but she didn't charge a fee either (we did it all by phone). We didn't want to stress about the HM plus we had never been on a cruise so I was happy to use an agent. We just booked another cruise and did it ourselves. I would probably use an agent again if we were going on a very expensive vacation or if it was something complicated. For example, our family has talked about a family cruise for my parents' anniversary in a couple of years. I think I'd want to at least talk to an agent before booking that, on the other hand most cruise lines & resorts (like Disney) have people who will organize everything for you. Using a TA almost seems old school now that we can do everything on the internet!
Honestly I don't think there is a real advantage but we have a TA that is helping with a large family reunion and our HM. She does not charge a fee and is great. Here name is Kate Metchik and her phone number is 513-821-7766. She is even letting us do a payment plan. A few friends of mine have used her before as well. Tell her Erica and Aaron September 2010 Honeymoon recommended you. GL
