Household products to clean jewellery?

I thought I saw a post about this a while ago.  My rings are in desperate need of a cleaning and I'm all out of cleaner.  Is there anything around the house that's safe to use?

Re: Household products to clean jewellery?

  • The jeweller that made my engagement ring told me to clean it with diluted Mr.Clean and a tooth brush.  It really does make it sparkle.

    Hope that helps

  • I think someone mentioned Windex!
  • Toothpaste and a soft toothbrush also do the trick....

There is one where baking soda is involved & boling water...I think I have the link (somewhere) but I got it off a google search.

    GL!

  • I'd be afraid of anything abrasive....

I actually use liquid dish soap and a toothbrush.  Makes my crystal sparkle, and my rocks.  ;)
