PCT: The bond issue

Early voting started today and DH and I went earlier and cast our votes. Are you going to vote?

I don't know exactly how many of us actually live in EBR on this board though lol I was just curious.

Re: PCT: The bond issue

  • Is early voting all this week at the clerk of court's office?  I'm so glad you posted this.  I completely forgot about it.  I will definitely be voting but I still haven't decided to vote yay or nay.

  • I haven't decided yet either. I'll do the clerk of court this week. My polling place is on a very scary street.
  • Cissy - my friend lives right by you and he was saying today how his polling place is wicked sketchy lol Shoe - early voting started today, we went to the clerk of court over on Coursey Ok not that y'all asked but here's my opinion on the bond. I voted no. I don't like how they are almost bribing us with the infastructure (sp) part of it by lumping in that Alive project. That irritates me. It shouldn't be all or nothing. If the two proposals were separate I would have most definitely voted yes. That being said MH has been researching this for quite some time and if you need anything explained I'm sure he'd be willing to. I feel like I haven't heard much about it aside from some bill boards and a commercial. It seems though to be a very touchy subject from what I have heard so far and while I'm not one for politics this topic has me interested!
  • Sorry for the one giant paragraph! I'm posting from my phone and I always forget to put in the
    thing!
  • I know what you mean. It's almost like blackmail. Approve my project or I won't fix your traffic. I really want us to have something like the deal they are proposing. Just not feeling the swamp thing.
  • I plan to vote yes.

  • If I still lived in BR, I would definitely vote yes. I voted Yes the last time it was on the ballot as well.

I think things won't start happening and changing in BR without getting this voted through.

I do not live in BR so I can not vote but I really hope everyone votes yes!

I agree that it can look a little iffy with them lumping the infrastructure (sp) and capital improvement together but BR needs this! We need to move forward and I know the econmy is really scary right now with jobs security, but we can all afford .25c a day.  Plus my hubby is a BR cop and they really really really need the new jail!!! if you need more info on this google/twitter Progress Is they have info on the bond issue.

  • Ok, you guys convinced me. I have been doing some reading on the issue today. The good things far outnumber the questionable. I will go and vote yes this week.
