also this is her feedback on it:
A lot of town that have considered it have failed to pass it b/c #1) the state does not do anything to make up the potential loss of tax revenue to the town; and 2) some people have felt that such a tax empemption is an unfair windfall to people with higher incomes who can afford the high price of hybrid.
Some towns have compromised by not making the behicles completly exempt but by deducting $1000 (or whatever number they choose) from the assessed value of the vehicle for tax purposes - thus generally resulting in a difference of only $25 - $50 depending upon value/mill rate etc.
