best place to buy a dishwasher?
Ours is broken, and since it's close to 10 years old we've decided to replace it. Where did you buy your dishwasher, and do you feel that you got a fair price?

Re: best place to buy a dishwasher?
We just got a new dishwasher a couple of months ago at Sears. We ended up paying more than we had anticipated, but we feel like we got a great deal on a great dishwasher. Our kitchen is completely open to our family room and we decided to splurge on the more expensive dishwasher that was 4dB quieter than the one we planned on buying. Since decibels are on a log scale, that difference is huge!
Also, we chose our dishwasher based on what other appliances we are buying for our kitchen. We need to replace all of our appliances and my DH wants them to all be the same brand. We were limited to a smaller refrigerator, so once we had that picked out we bought our dishwasher based off of that.
Sorry this got so long, apparently I'm in a long-winded mood this morning!
It all depends on who has the best sale at the time. We bought appliances a couple years ago right after Christmas and ended up getting them from Sears. They were offering 15% cash back when you bought 2 or more appliances, which ended up being a better deal than the ones we looked at at HH Gregg. We just bought appliances for our new house a few weeks ago and ended up getting them from HH Gregg.
I think Best Buy has high prices on appliances and I absolutely hate BB and try to boycott whenever possible. I have heard that Lowes has good prices, but I have always found the best price at either HH Gregg or Sears. You can negotiate with both places. HH Gregg has better customer service IMO.
When we are going to purchase appliances or a TV or something like that we always research online first to narrow it down to a few brands and models then spend the day going around to all the stores finding out who is offering the best deal. They all generally have the same products and most of them match prices 110%.
Good Luck!
I usually go to Lowes or Home Depot or a family-run store here in Dayton. I like them b/c the sales people don't hover too much. I want to play with the appliances without pressure from someone looking to make a sale.
BTW, Lowes has 10% off coupons in the address change packets at the post office. I think somone on the coupon board mentioned that HD will also accept the coupons.
We always buy everything at Best Buy because I have a BB card and anything over $200 you get for 12 months same as cash. Also, they will match any prices so if you find it cheaper somewhere else just bring them the ad or they will even go online right there in the store and look at the price and match it. I have done this with many items at Best buy.
We bought our Bosch dishwasher (so quiet! there's actually a little red light that shines on the floor to remind you that it's even on!) from Hagedorn in N. KY. They're family owned and Steve cut us a great deal (about 20% off of what we could have gotten on a comparable dw at a HD/Lowes). They also own the Maytag store up in Deerfield Township if that's more convenient.
Yes, Lowes and HD will accept each others coupons. You can get the Lowes 10% off coupon from the post office as pp said or just search online for the website to sign up and you'll get it via email in a couple days.

We also buy everything from Best Buy. We've remodeled our entire house (and all new furniture) so we've bought about 4 tvs from there, washer/dryer, deep freezer, and all kitchen appliances. We get the rewards points and also have their BB credit card b/c although we have the money in the bank, why not get free interest while paying it off?
Anyway, yes, they will beat anyone's price. When we bought our kitchen set, we also wanted all matching stainless steel appliances. We waited till HHGregg had a big sale on what we wanted, found the stuff priced cheaper at Home Depot (where we also had a 10% off coupon) and then took it to Best Buy. So they beat HDs price by 10% and then took another 10% off for the coupon. They even had to bring their manager over for approval because it was about what they paid for the appliances.
I will admit that we had some trouble after they were installed though. The front of our dishwasher had a dent in it. For 6 straight months, they had LG send a new dishwasher front and everytime the guy brought it out it had a bigger dent on it then the one we already had. They were shipping a thin piece of metal with no protection whatsoever, haha!
Anyway, after fighting with them they ended up just installing another machine. Two and ahalf years later, its working perfectly, never a single problem. LOVE it and love Best Buy.
Plus, from everything we've bought we've obtained enough rewards points for a free Dyson and a Wii.
