Tucker is sick :(

This might be TMI, so beware....
We got home last night and Tuck had an accident in his kennel. The entire house smelled, ugh. We took him to get cleaned up at Petco (boy is he even cuter now!).  Well he woke up around 3am howling, so i took him out and he diarehed(sp??) then woke up again at 6 and did the same. We have noticed a little blood in the stool. Im so scared that hes really sick. We are going to call the vet as soon as they open and try to get him in. Please keep lil Tuck in your thoughts. I hope he is ok!

Re: Tucker is sick :(

  • Sometimes they get blood because of doggie irritable bowel syndrome. Thats actually very common. It could be from the stress of having an accident in his crate or some sort of stress he feels. Can you try to get a stool sample to bring to the vet?If you can't, they will go in and get one. It's gross how they do that so don't watch! Also have them test him for giardia. GL and keep us posted!

  • yea, we're bringing a stool sample. The blood thing happend before his accident though. I noticed it the other day but thought it was just a rare thing. But then Jake told me that he saw some too...so I'm worried. I hope you're right that its just a common thing!!!
  • When my friends dog was a puppy she had the same issue, it turned out to be nothing and she was fine.  I'm sure he's ok!!
  • OH NOOOO!!!  Please keep us posted!  Poor little guy!
  • Oh no, poor guy.  :-(  We always feed our dogs white rice instead of their dog food when they are having tummy troubles, it seems to help.  But I would probably wait to see what the vet says.  Puppies are really resilient, don't worry, I'm sure he'll be fine.
