Moving Co. recs?

We're in the process of moving and would appreciate any recommendations for moving companies.  We don't have alot of stuff-and are planning on moving most of the small boxes ourselves since our new place is less than 10 miles from where we currently live.

In the past, moving companies have either been hit or miss for me so I'd really appreciate any recs you can pass along.

Thanks!

  • I do not recommend Ameritex. I had one good move with them, and then one, really, really horrible one.
  • Thank you, Lynn-Michelle.
  • I do not recommend All My Sons. We had them move us in July and are still dealing with issues.

  • My husband and I used Firefighting's Finest Moving and Delivery when we moved apartments in May.  The movers are off-duty firemen.  The price is more expensive than some of the other "questionable" companies, but the service is great!   They were careful with all of our items (nothing was broken!), they were quick, and they made sure everything was where we wanted it before they left.  Here's the link:  http://www.fortworthmovers.com/  They're not just in Ft Worth, either--our move was in Richardson.  Hope that helps! • We used Ameritex about 1 1/2 years ago and really had no problems with them.  We had a few scratches on our washer/dryer, but it probably would have been worse if we had moved it ourselves.
  • We used Firehouse Movers, Inc.  They are similar to the post above about being off duty firemen.  We had a huge move on Easter weekend and we only thought it was going to require one trip but had to make two.  These guys were super friendly and didn't mind doing the second load which led us into the evening on Saturday before Easter Sunday.  They were great, and very reasonably priced.

  • I would not recommend Ameritex based on my experience with them.

The EXACT same thing happened to me. Juan and Jose (father and son) didn and EXCELLENT job the first time. The second time, I requested them, and they weren't assigned the job and the guys that came were horrible. Dropped things, didn't cover things and tried to nickel and dime us for every single box.

If you've got money to spend, Delivery Limited is amazing.

  • Two Men and a Truck are amazing. My husband was the pickiest person ever and he loved them too.
  • I used the Apt Movers and loved them. They called to ask if they could come early and had me 100% done in 3 hours.
