XP: Delta's Stopover Policy?

Does anyone know what Delta's current stopover policy is?  For example, I want to fly to Germany with a stop over in Rome.  I know my family used to do this all the time (stop in San Fran, Hawaii, or Japan on the way to China).  What qualifies as a stopover and is it still free?  Do you have to book this over the phone?

Re: XP: Delta's Stopover Policy?

  • I used to work for American Airlines and their policy used to be that it was considered a stopover if it was more than 24 hours.  Some of the international fares do allow for this.  I think your best bet would be to call the reservations directly just to get clarity on all the rules of the particular fares.  Every fare has different rules, and they could probably help you find the one that best fits your needs.
