Good Morning Ladies!

It seems like its going to be a sunny day!  How was everyone's weekend?  Any fun Halloween stories?

We went to a party on Saturday night (not a costume one though) and caught up with some friends we hadn't seen in awhile.  Last night we tried our hand at baking an Apple and Pear pie, and it turned out pretty yummy and wasn't too terribly unhealthy either.  After that we ate pie and watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".

Re: Good Morning Ladies!

  • Good morning!  We had a great weekend.  We took Luka for a nice long hike at Great Brook on Saturday, and yesterday we got a ton done around the house.
  • On Saturday our friends hosted a Harry Potter party and absolutely went all out.  The night had a ridiculous amount of food, games, and they even put up a wall covering that made their place look like the inside of a castle.  Excellent night.

Sunday we were productive and got some errands done.  Not quite as fun.

  • I'm so happy it's going to be a nice day, I was planning on taking the doggy out to a few places so now he'll enjoy it even more..

I had to work on Saturday but we all dressed up and I brought candy for everyone and the other manager brought cookies so we were all on a sugar high which made the day fun, haha.

And yesterday Dh and I just hung out at home and read the paper until it was time to go to the Celtics game and they won so that always makes for an enjoyable time (and I didn't notice that it was any louder than usual, btw).

  • I had a very low-key weekend.  I really don't have anything to report!
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Those are my favorite kind of weekends!

  • Well, this was my first experience with trick or treaters (since moving out of my parents' house), and I had a lot of fun. However, we should have asked the neighbors for some advice on how much candy to buy, because we ran out of the original stash before 7pm! I'd bought 3 bags of fun size bars and I seriously thought that would be plenty. We had 2 bags of oddly-flavored Hershey's kisses that MIL sent us, then DH was going to the grocery store on Friday, so I asked him to pick up 2 more bags of regular kisses, just in case- assuming we'd have them leftover and I'd make some peanut butter kiss cookies later. We used up all 4 bags of kisses, then started scrambling around for more candy- I had a full bag of caramels on hand (leftover from the caramel fondue, since I only made half a batch), a little bag of Pez we happened to have, and a random handful of Dove chocolates. It was really funny.

DH has decided he hates trick or treaters- many of them were either a little old to be trick or treating, or else they didn't actually bother putting on a costume, which I agreed was lame. I was only bothered when 2 women older than I am (with no kids with them) came by. But most of the kids were cute and really polite- and I got a few compliments on my own costume!

All in all, Saturday was a lot of fun. Then Sunday we hung out, *finally* finished our wedding thank you notes (now we just have to pair the notes with the envelopes I addressed while DH finished his share of the notes yesterday, stamp and mail), went to a party at my boss's house, and did a lot of measuring for the bookcases we plan to get today- since we cleaned almost the entire?downstairs (except the den, aka "wedding present storage room"), we're on a cleaning kick. I'm really excited about how well our house is coming together- after 4 months of living here!

I hate it when I see high school kids (or older) out trick or treating, but you had women older than you?!? That's so tacky!  I wouldn't have given them any candy, lol..

Oh, and we had trick or treating at the mall I work in and there were several people there with babies.. I mean, it's cute to see the baby dressed up but I know they won't be the ones eating the candy!

?I think my friend's favorite was the guy dressed like a football player who we're pretty sure was just wearing his Doherty High School football uniform.

The older women did look a little ashamed when I answered the door- I wonder if they just stick with houses of older people, because we're new, so they may have been expecting the 50-something previous owners.?

  • Our weekend was pretty good. Friday we went to La Caretta with my parents after my mom and I ran some errands. Yummm!

Saturday my mom's boss stopped by my parents house with her 17 month old, so I visited with them. She is such a cutie!

We had a few people over Saturday night, which was fun. I was so sad we only got 15 trick or treaters! Even less than last year :-(

Yesterday we went to the ILs for dinner for my MILs birthday (which was Halloween). I got to feel my niece kick in my SILs belly!! That was sooo cool Big Smile
