Menu

Bring on the crock pot recipes, ladies! I am looking for some tried and true slow cooker meals for the cold months :)

This week's dinner groceries cost a mere $40! Yowza! Here's what we're eating:

Monday: Jamaican Pumpkin Soup;

Tuesday: Leftovers;

Wednesday: Lemon & Herb Crock Chicken, roasted potatos and carrots;

Thursday: Leftovers;

Friday: Breakfast! (hashbrowns, ham steak, eggs).

Re: Menu

  • yum! Pumpkin soup sounds delicious, are you making it with jack-o-lantern??

    I haven't made my menu yet, but I'm also doing crockpot today! I have a pork roast cooking all day long, with carrots and potatos

    Nah, we don't have trick-or-treaters, so no use for a pumpkin. I am resorting to canned pumpkin :(

    We didn't have any either. Only the neighbours who knew we never had trick or treaters for the last 2 years, so it was kind of annoying that they came because we barely had enough candy for his 4 kids, haha. Your new neighbourhood doesn't have kids either? Is it just because not many people have moved in yet?

    There are about 20 houses under construction in our area, but only 5 are occupied. Of those 5 I think only one has kids. We don't have roads/sidewalks yet so it's a big mucky mess out there...not the best for TorTing. Maybe next year! lol

  • Yummm that Jamaican Pumpkin soup sounds amazing!

    Monday: Penne and sausage in homemade tomato sauce, caesar salad

    Tuesday: leftover risotto from Sunday night (my dad made), chicken skewers, green beans

    Wednesday: leftover pasta from Monday

    Thursday: Beef and vegetable stew

    Friday: leftover stew

    Mel, I used to have this awesome chicken with apple pecan stuffing crockpot recipe... lost it on my old laptop when it died on me. I will go looking for it!

  • I had to chuckle at "leftovers" two nights for dinner.  Even if I make enough for 6 H eats everything.  And might I had, doesn't gain a pound.  I guess installing hardwood burns a lot of calories.

    Chicken breasts were on sale at Fortino's last week, so I'm using up some from the freezer this week.

    Nothing crockpot this week.  I keep overcooking things.

    We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

    lol I have DH on a diet! We used to cook something new every night...but I found we threw away or wasted so much food that I figure I may as well save cash and eat it again!

  • Monday - pasta

    Tuesday - comfort food! (sausage, brown beans, creamed corn)

    Wednesday - salmon, rice, broccoli

    Thursday - pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans

    Friday - breakfast (omeletes, toast, hashbrowns)
