47 days til...

...Christmas! I know it's crazy that I'm already counting down, but I'm so excited for Christmas this year. I think this is the first year where we'll have adequate money in our Christmas saving account to buy really great gifts for our friends and family, and I love to give gifts!

Is anyone else excited, or am I just being a nut job?!

Re: 47 days til...

  • Yes you are a nut job but not because of this!

I started my Christmas present getting together in September.  I LOVE Christmas.  I get sad when we have to take down our tree.

  • no, i love love love Chirstmas. I have more christmas decorations than anything else in our attic. Hubs thinks i'm nuts but once it's all decorated he loves how nice the house looks. Kinda bummed becuase we are cutting back dramatically on xmas gifts this year. I only really buy for parents, hubs, nieces/nephews (4) and yankee swap. Most others are cookies/food gifts.

PS. I secretly broke out my Charlie Brown Christmas DVD, that was a gift last year, I plan to watch it this week! The grinch comes later ;)

  • I'm Christmas OBSESSED!!!!!!  I've been walking around signing christmas songs and just haning around the stores with all the decorations :)  I can't wait to start decorating, we are just trying to figure out what to do with the tree now that are dog isn't in a cage anymore...we aren't sure how he'll be with it.

We aren't do much gift buying this year with the wedding but I love all the family get togethers the most and of course all the GOOD food!!

  • I like Christmas cookies. but the music and hoopla pre-Thanksgiving drives me nuts!! I am sure Christmas will be more fun starting this year, with Jack. Next year, definitely.
  • i am so excited too!  i think harper will actually understand how to open a present by then!  i am most excited for christmas when i have a house full of kids.  i am not big on gifts but i love watching kids open presents!

  • Sheri: That's how I am, I'm not big on getting the gits but I love watching people (especially kids) open their presents.  I know next year will be great with my soon to be niece....this year I'm just hoping she's an early Christmas preset:)
  • I'm very excited for the holidays as well. I'm one to have a plan for everything so it's a bit nerve wracking not knowing what to expect since my due date is so close to Christmas. Speaking of DS arriving prior to Christmas day would be pretty cool. My parents are the hardest to buy gifts for and they've firmly stated all they want is their grandson asap.

DH and I have a total of 20 people to buy presents for including each other. Not bad in my opinion. This list is parents, siblings, nephews and neices, grandparents, and polyannas. I am already completely done with 7 and have started on another 4. I've never been this ahead of the game with gifts, but I'm trying to keep in mind that with a baby on the way sooner is better!

  • I am about 75% done gift buying for the year and it feels great.  Last nights WS tickets were H and I's presents to each other and any goodies we buy for the baby inbetween now and his arrival.

Am I a nut job because I pay someone to torture me twice a week at the gym? If so, you're a nut job, too!

  • Holy crap!!! I bet it is going to sneak up on us before we know it.  I love Christmas, so I am definitely looking forward to it.
  • Holy Crap! That's all?????

I'm really excited for it this year since Aidan will really have fun with it. Heck, he gets excited about helping me take things out of Acme bags!

I'm already stressing about what to buy people though. Our families are so different. DHs goes above and beyond with unneccessary items and mine is nice and simple with things that are useful. ugh. It's such a pain. I love giving gifts but I'd like to find a way to cut back since we still have more debt right now than we'd like.
