My little sister is a freshman at Mason and is running in the state cross country meet in Columbus this weekend. It's a really big deal and I wanted to send something to her at school on Friday as a good luck surprise.
I was thinking flowers but does anyone have any better ideas? She obviously can't carry around a vase full of water all day at school and would a bouquet be kind of weird? DH said balloons but I don't know of anyone who has a balloon delivery business haha.
I was searching around on the websites of a bunch of Mason florists and none of them had photos of anything "school spirit" related so that made me think maybe it wasn't sure a great idea. I was not in sports so I have no idea if this is even normal? Were any of you sent good luck gifts while in high school?
Re: what should i send as a "good luck" gift?
I wasn't in sports so I have no idea, but I do like the balloon idea if you can find someone to do it and if they can put the balloons on her locker. In high school we had a development office that sold balloons in the morning and we would put them on people's lockers. Does Mason have anything like this? Our development ladies were always so sweet so if they do have an office that does this, those ladies probably wouldn't have a problem putting them on her locker. Do you know any of her friends that could decorate her locker with something from you? The flowers would be a hassle or just left in her locker, but I'm sure she'd get a kick out of it though.
You are a very thoughtful sister, I'm sure she'll love whatever you do for her. Tell her good luck!
My sister ran state in Indiana for three years (in track) and I usually sent the cookie bouquets - I always told them to make the cookie bears look like funny track runners and they usually did a great job. They have all sorts of options as well.
good luck!
I like to send cupcakes from http://www.bangerangbakeshop.com/
