ok for real

I'm gonna start dieting on Monday.  Tonight we're having one of my favorite meals, chicken in wine and mushroom sauce .  And I'm making my parents' friends recipe for sh*t bread (funny story) to go with it.  And at some point over the weekend I'm having my dang fried shrimp I've been wanting!

But Monday I will start cooking from my cooking light cookbook and my holly clegg cookbook.

  • why wait until Monday. start now if you really truly are motivated to do this. i know you said you want to eat some things first but it's a lifestyle change with sacrifices. (i hope i dont sound like a b!tch)

  • I actually did what Tigerfan is doing before I got married.  And will hopefully be able to do it again after I have the baby.

    Maybe have your fried shrimp on top of a big salad?  It's little changes like that where you will see change.  I found that the biggest roadblock for me was feeling like I was never going to get to eat my favorite foods ever again.  But I realized that it doesn't have to be that way!  For example:  you can still have pizza, just get veggie thin crust and eat a salad on the side.  And you can treat yourself to buffalo wings (I know they're you're favorite!) every so often just try not to scarf down a ton in one sitting.

    Honestly, one you start making changes like that in your diet, you will find that the "bad" food that you used to love and crave, doesn't even taste good anymore!

  • I actually don't eat very terrible, despite cooking a lot.  I don't eat sweets, generally.  Just don't care for them.  My main fault lies in drinking sodas and no exercise. 

    Pretty much every meal I eat, I have a salad first and then just a little of whatever I cooked.  Also helps it last a while!

  • who said to throw out your groceries? that would be stupid.

    and its not just about sweets and sodas.... but so many people say they are going to start on monday and so many people, come monday, don't do it because of whatever reasons.

    i am not ''dieting" and i don't deprive myself either and i don't advertise to people that i am on a diet or anything, it has been great having coworkers ask me what i am doing to lose weight. i tell them i am eating less, better choices and working out. But i was just saying start now, not later, if you really are motivated.
