Christmas Gift Etiquette ?

Do you think it is tacky to ask friends and family members to give your LO's money for their RESP's  when they ask you what they should get your kids for Christmas/birthdays?

I'm thinking of doing this this year b/c our LO's have so many toys already and the ones that they really want we end up buying for them ourselves,  anyway.

Re: Christmas Gift Etiquette ?

  • Tough one.  I agree that it could put people in a  position where they feel they need to spend more.

A short list is a good idea, how about picture books, gift certificates to a local children's museum, ice rink or aquarium, a children's magazine subscription (is there something like chickadee for the littler ones?).  These can all be low-cost options that aren't more toys in your house.
