Good zip code to live in?
75201?
DH and I are looking for a house to live if/when we transfer to Dallas in January. Is this a good zip code to live in? Is it safe and in a good area?
If not/so - what are the SAFE, good areas of Dallas to live in? Like zip code wise, so I know what to avoid
Thanks!!
Re: Good zip code to live in?
zipcode isn't the best thing to go by, especially in dallas. 75214 has 500k houses and boarded up run down houses.
if you do want to look at houses in that area you can probably tell by looking for houses for sale then looking at street view in google maps. we were able to narrow down neighborhoods we did not want to live in that way
Do you mind me asking what your budget is? Are you wanting a home with a yard or a condo? That might help us find you something appropriate.
I found it really easy to search by zip code when looking for houses. Zip codes we searched before finding our house: 75214, 75206, 75209, 75238, 75225, 75205 (the last two are very expensive neighborhoods that didn't fit our budget, but I always looked just to see!)
You can also look up the crime statistics on the Dallas Police website for any particular zip code.
