Jeans help

I really should go to F&B but I'm scared b/c I'm such a fashion idiot.  I have really, really big thighs, so I can't wear skinny jeans (and I really don't have a desire to) but I'm not sure what kind of jeans to get.  What cut is in style besides that?  I'm going to go look at American Eagle b/c I used to love their jeans and they're buy one get one 1/2 off this weekend.

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

Re: Jeans help

  • I was just going to say American Eagle! Those are the only jeans I wear so I am not tons of help.
  • Oh I was also going to say I like trouser jeans.
  • I am not sure how much you want to spend, but I highly recommend designer jeans.  Specifically, Paige Premium Denim.  Most pairs are about $179....but SO worth it, trust me.  There is just no comparing how they fit and make your butt look compared to regular jeans.

  • I have no problem spending the cash on designer jeans...but I want to lose some more weight before I do, otherwise it's just not worth it.  :(  I tried some Paige jeans on last year and loooooved them.

  • I have big thighs too and I've always liked the way Gap's Long and Lean line has looked on me. All their jeans come in an ankle, regular, and long length so (and don't take this the wrong way) since you're shorter you could go with the ankle length.

  • Like Jen, I totally recommend designer jeans.  I am in LOVE with my new Cookie Johnson jeans.  I am back down to my pre-pg weight but still have a lot of toning to do.  My thighs are bigger than normal.  I got a pair of these jeans and they are like magic jeans (hahaha...she is married to Magic Johnson).  I would definitely check them out.  She has different cuts too.  Plus, they are really comfortable.

  • Val, I carry a good portion of my weight in my thighs, and I LOVE trouser jeans.  I personally like the wider leg with heels.  I subscribe to the "it adds more length to my leg" bandwagon.  Although right now I'm wearing a pair of bootcut (shocking!) because I'm just plain lazy today. LOL

Sorry - I pay no attention to brand because I'm shocked and surprised when I find a pair that fits me and I like, so I just get whatever.  I'm also pretty limited in my options here (even the Macy's a half hour from here is CRAP... it's tiny and they never carry much.)

I saw her on Oprah talking about why she decided to design a denim line.  Oprah said they are her new fav too.

  • Thanks guys!  I wound up getting the bootcut style from American Eagle and I love them!  I wanted something casual that I could wear with gym-type shoes or flats and t-shirts...just for the weekends really.  I'll keep an eye out for these trouser jeans for work, otherwise I wear some CK dark wash flare cut jeans (they're not super flare though).
