Saw this on someone's blog so had to try it myself as I thought the screenshot was fake. This is so wrong...

Go to Google
In the search field, type in "black people are", "white people are", etc. DON'T hit search, just look at what Google predicts you are searching for
Gasp in horror as you read the results and realize Google is racist :P

Actually they both came up pretty bad for me. Some were identical / almost identical.

Examples;

Black people are racist
White people are racist

Black people stole my car
White people are stealing my car

I think someone must have hacked their site and set this up so these sayings would come up, then publicized it. I did some checking and when you typed in asian, japanese, chinese, black, white and french you got very racist and/or rude things. But if you type in german, polish, swiss, ect google doesn't even try to guess what you are going to type. So I really think someone hacked their site.

I am pretty sure that what pops up is the most common searched when those character's are entered. I am pretty sure that people are the issue not google.

What she said. The suggestions are based on a search algorithm. Google is one of the most tolerant companies out there. I would love to work for them.

The problem is with our society.

Here's a quick explanation on how these things work. That's why when you type it in you don't get the exact same results shown on the blog - it's completely dynamic.

Ah this makes more sense. It is quite sad if that's what people are thinking though . Regardless, wouldn't it be better to filter some of this umm...controversial type stuff?
