Hey Ladies!! I want to make a delicious dessert for our Thanksgiving dinner. I don't want the usual pumpkin pie, though. Anyone out there with secret recipes from Grandma??
Re: Thanksgiving Dessert!!
My family has made this for years and we all love it!

I'm kind of the dessert queen in the family. Each Thanksgiving, I do miniature pecan pies and pumpkin rolls. Delicious!
The pumpkin rolls are really yummy pumpkin bread and a vanilla cream cheese filling.
The pecan pies are really yummy because each one has a good serving of crust, filling and pecans.
If you want either of the recipes, I will be happy to pass them on.
I have starting making a pumpkin chocolate chip cheesecake to add to the traditional fare. It is heaven. I'm sure you can google the recipe--the best one is with the crust made from coco powder & nilla wafers. HTH
I have a pumpkin cheesecake recipe too that is oh so yummy. For years it has been the only thing that I am allowed to bring to Thanksgiving dinner. I'm hosting this year so I don't HAVE to make it but I still will. It's a graham cracker crust with a cream cheese/cool whip layer and then a pimpkin layer with vanilla pudding. Easy to make a few days ahead of time too!
Let me know if you want it and I can maybe post it later when I get home from work.
Strawberry Jell-O pretzel is always yummy:
Ingredients:
*2 Cups coarsely chopped Pretzels
*3/4 Cup melted Butter
*3 Tablespoons Sugar PLUS 1 Cup
*1 - 8 ounce softened Cream Cheese
*1 small carton Cool Whip, thawed
*2 - 6 ounce Strawberry Jell-O
*2 - 10 ounce packages frozen strawberries
*2 Cups boiling Water
Preparation:
Mix Pretzels, Butter and 3 tablespoons Sugar and press into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 8 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool completely.
Beat Cream Cheese and 1 cup Sugar until creamy. Add Cool Whip and spread on cooled crust.
Mix together Jell-O and water. Add frozen strawberries until slightly jelled. Spread on Cream Cheese mixture and refrigerate until set.
Here's a yummy trifle recipe (two ways to make it, also):
You can actually make it one of two ways - one as a trifle and one as brownies. Almost exactly the same recipe though.
You need....
1 box of brownie mix (and the stuff you need to prepare those)
1 regular tub coolwhip, thawed (I always use light)
1 box white chocolate flavored pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
Heath bars, crushed
Chocolate & Caramel syrups
Prepare Brownies and cool completely.
Mix together pudding mix and cold milk (it's purposely not the full amount the box requires). Stir until it begins to thicken. Fold in entire tub of cool whip.
TRIFLE
Cut brownies into approx. 1" squares. Divide into 3. Layer one layer of brownie cubes into trifle dish. Spoon on 1/3 of pudding/coolwhip mixture and spread out then drizzle w/ chocolate & caramel sauces and sprinkle with crushed heath . Repeat 2x.
BROWNIES
Use slightly less milk (about 1/2-3/4 cup) to make the pudding thicker and then fold in coolwhip. Use that mixture as a 'frosting'. Then again, drizzle w/ chocolate & caramel sauces and sprinkle with crushed heath.
