s/o hosting Thanksgiving...AHH!!

I just sat down with a notebook and wrote out a "menu" with who was bringing what, then wrote down the grocery list for what we're supplying.  Holy mother!!  It's gonna be costly, I'll probably start this week buying stuff so I don't have to spend a ton at once and don't have to go out with the people who wait till the day before!

  • haha no, it really won't be that bad.  But getting enough stuff for almost twenty people adds up!

And the mac and cheese has like five different cheeses in it.  Just gets expensive!

  • I know what you mean. It adds up quick! Thankfully my husband had foresight to buy a Turkey at Ralph's meat sale last week so we got that dirt cheap. And we have a free honey ham coupon so if we do need more meat, we won't need to dish out for that. But everything else can add up very, very quickly!

    I was kidding! :) 20 ppl...color me impressed! We're serving 10 and I'm stressed!

  • My family is really big!! Every Thanksgiving and Christmas we average around 50ppl!!! So we all have to bring one dish.. I am thankful that we will never have to worry about cooking so many dishes at once all I will ever have to do is make 1 dish!!! this year steamed veggies!!!

    LMAO

I hear ya.  We're having people over next weekend to watch the LSU game and to celebrate my 30th (yikes!) birthday, and our Target list is out of control!

  • I always do a  list of wet vs dry and go buy all of my dry this week and then next week get all those throw away pans and stuff and everything I need that won't go bad...then a few days before get the stuff that would go bad.

Im telling you we've hosted the past two years and a small crowd and I was shocked at how much it costs!  The good thing is if you're having people over who bring stuff it won't be as bad.

But I loooove hosting Tday so I don't care...now my H does but oh well haha
